- Is the local environmental data available anywhere in the United States?
The local enviornmental information is available for the entire United States, however some towns are not recognized by the geocoder service and it may be necessary to enter the zip code instead.
- How do I change the location?
There is a menu item on the dashboard screen that allows you to change location by taking you to the location-selection screen. Touching the "+" or "Add" button on this screen will allow you to enter any town or 5-digit zip code in the US to obtain its local environmental data. Enter the town as the town name followed by a comma, followed by the two-letter state code. Up to eight locations will be automatically remembered by the application and are presented in the "Locations" screen. You can then easily select from these locations later without having to enter them again.
- How do I activate the options on the water, land and energy maps?
Touch the small symbol next to the plus sign of the option you wish to have plotted on the maps. After a few seconds, the appropriate facilities will be shown on the map.
- Can I monitor radiation from a different location?
The EPA maintains gamma radiation monitors at various locations around the US. Environs Now automatically chooses the nearest monitor to the entered location, so if you want to monitor radiation levels from around the country, enter multiple locations and switch between them. This also applies to the other environmental information presented. Environs Now remembers up to 8 different locations.
